Paid internships: Finance & Accounting

1. Atlassian: Procurement Intern - 2022 Summer U.S.

Atlassian is in search of Accounting Intern candidates for its paid Summer 2022 intern cohort. In this role, the successful candidate will support a diverse team with a mix of industry and operational experience. They will provide thought leadership and learn about the business through active participation. Interns in this program have the opportunity to drive process improvements and engage in analytics support and ad-hoc projects. 

Degree: Working toward graduation from an accounting or finance degree program
Special Qualifications: Must be able to commit to a 12-week internship (40 hours per week) over the Summer of 2022. Experience in information systems (IS) is a nice-to-have


Procurement roles

1. KnowBe4: Procurement Contract Manager

If you’re interested in a role where you can hone your negotiating skills within a fast-growing SaaS company, KnowBe4 is in search of a Procurement Contract Manager. In this role, you will negotiate domestic and international contracts, act as the lead review, negotiation, management, and dispute resolution expert for buy-side/procurement agreements, and advise on risk liability to mitigate potential impacts. You’ll work closely with other stakeholders to increase and improve procurement performance and participation. 

Experience: Three to 10 years of contract drafting, negotiation, and/or management experience 
Degree: Bachelor’s from an accredited 4-year college. JD from an ABA-accredited law school preferred. IACCM or NCMA certification preferred
Special qualifications: Knowledge of ​​Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), foreign anti-bribery laws, and import/export regulations, and SOX

2. Cisco: Director, Procurement (Indirect Corporate Goods & Services / SaaS)

Cisco is looking for a Director, Procurement to lead goods and services procurement to support its internal business peers and manage indirect purchasing agreements, RFQs, and PO fulfillment. This highly detailed role, reporting to the VP of Operations, Global Procurement Services (GPS), will require a proactive individual with extensive experience in negotiations and problem-solving. You will collaborate with other department heads including IT and Marketing to develop strategies and mitigate risk. Therefore, a candidate with extensive experience negotiating in IT, SaaS, and subscription and maintenance contracts is required. 

Experience: Minimum three to five years of indirect procurement experience
Degree: Bachelor’s degree
Special qualifications: Proficient with MS Office, Coupa, Coupa BI software and Ariba

3. Cvent: Senior Manager/Manager, Operations and Procurement

For those with an interest in engagement and event management, Cvent is seeking a Senior Manager to help develop and implement its procurement practices.

This role, reporting to the Vice President of Operations, will be an interdepartmental communicator, interfacing with stakeholders in Finance and senior leadership. The right candidate will be a highly skilled negotiator, with a talent for vendor relationship management, contract admin, and project tracking. They will be responsible for improving and maximizing purchasing power and operational standards. 

Experience: Seven years in contracts and procurement, or related roles
Degree: Bachelor’s degree required 
Special qualifications: Intermediate to Advanced level Excel proficiency

4. Blackbaud: IT Category Manager

Nonprofit sector solutions provider Blackbaud is seeking an IT Category Manager to lead sourcing projects for the IT and Development teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement across hardware, software, services, telecommunications, and other technology-related categories. The best candidate will have experience leading small to large-scale sourcing projects and possess the ability to manage the strategic process end-to-end, including analysis, strategy development, price negotiations (specifically tech services and license agreements), and contracts review. They will have an eye for cost reduction and be comfortable communicating and advising stakeholders. 

Experience: Five or more years with hands-on experience in the indirect sourcing category
Degree: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Special qualifications: Excellent presentation skills; Six Sigma or Lean Certification preferred


Finance roles

1. Stripe: Finance & Strategy, Risk Finance

Processing powerhouse Stripe is seeking a Risk Finance professional to help the company navigate financial decision-making.

The successful candidate will work closely with teams including Stripe leadership, build forecasting models, track performance, and understand deviations from actuals. They will develop and monitor success metrics and support the planning process with monthly reviews, annual budgeting, and long-range planning activities. The best candidate will be a natural communicator with a keen analytical eye.

Experience: 10+ years in strategic or operational finance
Special qualifications: Experience with SQL or a willingness to learn is a must. Experience building integrated models

2. DocuSign: FP&A Manager - Product & Technology Finance

DocuSign is in search of an FP&A Manager - Product & Technology Finance to join its Innovation & Technology FP&A team. This role, reporting to the Director, FP&A, will partner closely with DocuSign’s Product Development organization by performing financial analysis and modeling, designing, and preparing financial plans and budgets.

The role also calls for analyzing, interpreting, and communicating financial information to management. The right candidate will be able to ensure financial and operating decisions are based on accurate financial data. They will be adept at applying financial expertise to inform overall strategy.

Experience: Minimum 8 years relevant experience as FP&A business partner or similar
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
Special qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Advanced modeling skills are required. Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial concepts

3. Intuit: Senior Finance Manager

Intuit is looking for a Senior Finance Manager for its Small Business & Self Employed Group (SBSEG) team — the company’s largest business unit. In this role, the company requires a seasoned finance leader with a deep SaaS understanding. The best candidate will be comfortable in a team coaching role for 2-3 analysts.

They will also provide advanced financial modeling to analyze complex business scenarios that inform strategy. This role requires extensive financial reporting for business transparency.

Experience: 10 or more years in finance leadership roles, with 2+ in a supervisory role
Degree: BS/BA required or equivalent experience; MBA preferred

4. Intuit: Finance Manager

Intuit is also looking for a Finance Manager for its Accelerating Functions Finance team. This role calls for a cross-functional partner who can understand long-term business objectives and drive financial planning through annual 3- and 1-year financial plans.

You will also provide analysis and recommendations for analytical, M&A, and other projects as required. The right candidate will be adept at establishing financial targets for each business segment, with a strong ability to manage large and complex projects while keeping stakeholders and investors informed. 

Experience: Seven or more years in finance leadership roles
Degree: BS/BA required or equivalent experience; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA preferred
Special qualifications: Deep understanding of financial theory (IRR, ROI, valuation, capital allocation, financial modeling, etc.) and tactical FP&A experience (budgeting, variance analysis, financial systems, accounting, etc.)

5. GitHub: Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance

DevOps and pipeline leader GitHub seeks a Senior Analyst to join its Strategic Finance team and focus on Sales-Serve ARR. This is a collaborative role for the successful candidate, working closely with sales leadership and developing long-term planning for this high-growth company.

The job functions consist of financial planning and management, customer trend reporting, setting financial targets, and strategic forecasting. Reporting and communication are necessary assets in this role, as the successful candidate will report to senior business leaders to communicate the performance and operational metrics and proactive planning. 

Experience: Three or more years experience with relevant work in FP&A, investment, VC, or private equity
Degree: BA in relevant field
Special qualifications: Experience with sophisticated financial modeling and working with large data sets. Experience using Salesforce is a plus
