vCluster Platform: Dev

The first paid Enterprise tier of vCluster Platform. Designed for teams running virtual clusters in development and staging environments. Adds enterprise features beyond the Free tier including Sleep Mode (Auto Sleep, Auto Wakeup, Auto Delete), SSO (SAML2, OIDC, LDAP, OAuth), Audit Logging, Templates and Template Versioning, Quotas, and additional platform management capabilities. Available as vCluster Cloud (managed) or Self-Hosted. Pricing is custom/contact sales.

vCluster Platform: Free

The Free tier of vCluster Platform, launched January 2026. Builds on OSS with additional enterprise features at no cost. Requires connecting to vCluster Platform for license validation — no credit card required. Supports unlimited virtual clusters up to 64 CPUs or 32 GPUs total, including 1 HA vCluster. Includes embedded etcd, CRD Sync, Sync Patches, Private Nodes, Auto Nodes, Standalone mode, Platform UI, CLI, and CRDs for self-service workflows.

vCluster Platform: OSS

The open-source, Apache 2.0 licensed version of vCluster. Provides core virtual Kubernetes cluster capabilities including virtual cluster creation, resource syncing (pods, services, configmaps, secrets), multi-namespace mode, SQLite or deployed etcd backing store, and support for multiple Kubernetes distributions (k3s, k0s, vanilla K8s, EKS distro). No platform connection required. Suitable for development, testing, and production workloads. No license key or account needed.

vCluster Platform: Prod

The second paid Enterprise tier of vCluster Platform. Designed for production Kubernetes workloads. Includes all Dev tier features plus additional production-grade capabilities such as HA Mode (high availability with leader election), Multi-Region Mode, and additional platform management features. Pricing is custom/contact sales.

vCluster Platform: Scale

The highest paid Enterprise tier of vCluster Platform. Designed for mission-critical virtual clusters at enterprise scale with maximum confidence. Includes all Prod tier features plus Air-Gapped Mode (offline license key), FIPS compliance, Zero-Day Alerts, advanced integrations (ClusterAPI, Terraform, Rancher, Argo CD, Vault, External Secrets Operator), and maximum platform instance count. Previously sold as 'Loft Enterprise Starter' under the Loft brand.
