Vendr is dedicated to creating fair playing fields everywhere, and this time, we're taking it to the next level. Here, we know that education is the foundation of a better future, so we want to support children's growth through books that celebrate diversity and inclusiveness.

Studies suggest that only a small number of books and materials in elementary schools feature people of color.

Limited representation in children's books and educational materials poses a significant problem. When children are not exposed to diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences, their understanding of the world and their place within it is limited. By offering stories and characters representing people of color, children from all backgrounds can develop a sense of empathy towards others and a positive sense of self-identification.

In honor of Black Heritage Month in February, Vendr is holding a book drive to support providing books featuring people of color to Boston’s Patrick J. Kennedy Elementary School. This Title I school serves approximately 300 students from PK-6, and we’re excited to partner with them to enhance their library with a focus on representation.

How to participate in our book drive

Join us in making a difference. Our book drive runs from February 13 to 24, 2023, and participating is easy. Participants can purchase books via the Amazon Wishlist, which will be sent directly to the school. Your donation will have an immediate and direct impact. We're calling on the entire Vendr community to get involved and demonstrate our commitment to leveling the playing field, not just in software but in our neighborhood.

Vendr's book drive is an opportunity to support education and create cultural awareness within our community. By providing children with access to diverse books and materials, we're helping to shape their perspectives and encourage empathy, understanding, and inclusiveness. Join us in supporting Patrick J. Kennedy Elementary School and building a better future.
